This Privacy Policy explains how Local VidGen ("Local VidGen", "we", "us", or "our") handles information when a user uses the Local VidGen desktop application, website, and supported third-party platform integrations.
1. Information we may process
Depending on the features a user enables, Local VidGen may process:
- account identifiers and authorization information received from a connected third-party platform;
- access tokens or similar credentials required to use an authorized platform integration;
- videos, captions, titles, descriptions, publishing settings, and other content the user selects for processing or publication;
- technical information needed to operate, troubleshoot, and secure the application; and
- information the user voluntarily provides when communicating about the application.
2. How information is used
We use information only as reasonably necessary to:
- operate the Local VidGen workflow and requested features;
- authenticate and communicate with third-party platforms on the user's behalf after authorization;
- prepare and submit user-selected content and publishing metadata;
- maintain security, troubleshoot errors, and improve reliability; and
- comply with applicable law and platform requirements.
3. TikTok data
When a user authorizes TikTok functionality, Local VidGen may receive and process data made available through TikTok's developer interfaces according to the permissions granted by the user. Such data is used only to provide the TikTok-related functionality requested by the authorized user.
Local VidGen does not claim ownership of a user's TikTok account or TikTok content. TikTok's own terms and privacy practices also apply to the user's use of TikTok.
4. Sharing of information
We do not sell personal information. Information may be transmitted to a connected third-party service when the user asks Local VidGen to use that service, or when disclosure is required by law, necessary to protect security, or needed to prevent abuse.
5. Storage and security
Local VidGen is designed as a desktop workflow and may process application data locally. Some information must be transmitted to connected services to perform requested platform operations. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures intended to protect information, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
6. Retention
Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to operate enabled features, resolve issues, meet legal obligations, or comply with applicable platform requirements. Local application files may remain on the user's own device until the user removes them.
7. User choices and connected accounts
Users can stop using a connected integration and may revoke platform authorization through the controls provided by the relevant platform when available. Revoking authorization may prevent Local VidGen from performing features that require that connection.
8. Children's privacy
Local VidGen is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through this website.
9. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Local VidGen, legal requirements, or platform integrations. The effective date above will be updated when material changes are published.
